AIS software module

AIS identifies the position and speed of other ships, and its main function is to help prevent collisions between vessels. Own ship information and position are broadcast over the VHF band, and the same type of information is received from other ships and base stations. If the Olex machine has an AIS device connected and additional Olex AIS software installed, all vessels with AIS and within radio range will be displayed on the screen. The AIS targets will appear as triangular boat symbols with names or MMSI numbers depending on which one they choose to broadcast.

It is also possible to send and receive depth data from other boats via AIS and have the transmitter's and receiver's bottom maps displayed simultaneously on the screen as it is measured.
